Join the Race to Help Mend a Broken Heart
Uttoxeter Charity Race Day to support 50 years of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and
the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal
Uttoxeter Racecourse has teamed up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to mark the charity’s 50th birthday and help mend broken hearts.
With the generous support of the racecourse, the BHF will be hosting a Charity Race Day on Wednesday 13 July to raise vital funds for the BHF’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal. The race event will take place at Uttoxeter Racecourse, situated between Burton-on-Trent and Stoke-on-Trent.
Individuals, groups and businesses are being urged to help ‘mend a broken heart’ by sponsoring a race or enjoying a race day hospitality experience in support of the heart charity’s most ambitious appeal to date.
The goal of Mending Broken Hearts is simple: to fund the research that could begin to literally ‘mend broken hearts’ in as little as 10 years and save and improve the lives of millions within decades.
Local farmer and family man Dave Taberner, of Highfields Farm in Anslow says: “Following my sudden heart attack last year, I know first-hand that heart disease can touch us all. Supporting events like the Charity Race Day will help the BHF raise an additional £50 million to fund the groundbreaking research that could give hope to millions of people. I urge people to sponsor a race, or buy a ticket for the hospitality package, which is available for the Charity Race Day on July 13th. Your sponsorship will make a big difference in helping beat heart disease for good”.
You can support the Charity Race Day in a couple of ways. By sponsoring a race with the Gold Package for £2,500 (incl VAT) you can have your name in the title of the race, for example ‘John Smith supports the BHF Day Stakes’. The Gold Package sponsorship is generous and includes a table for 10 for lunch in the hospitality lounge, several promotional opportunities such as a full page colour raceday programme advert, transmission to over 9,000 betting shops around the country, coverage on At The Races (the free to air Sky channel) and local press coverage. There’s also an opportunity to visit the parade ring and present the trophy to the owner of the winning horse. A Silver Package is available at £1,750 and includes race sponsorship only.
Alternatively, a hospitality package is available for individuals or groups who want to enjoy the race day experience from the comfort of the Premier Hospitality Lounge, which offers super panoramic views of the racecourse. At £850 (incl VAT) per table of 10 (or £85 per person), the package also includes entry into the premier enclosure, a drink on arrival, 3-course lunch, a raceday programme and a Tote discount betting voucher. Full details are available on request.
James Elston Commercial Manager says: “I’m delighted that Uttoxeter Racecourse is supporting the BHF in 2011 with the Charity Race Day event. A lot of hard work has gone into the planning behind it and it promises to be a great day’s racing. Everyone sponsoring a race or buying a ticket will be helping the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal”.
