Questions that you might have…
- What do I wear to the races?
- People like to dress up when they come racing during the summer months, and on our themed days such as Ladies Night and Country & Western Day there is often a prize for the best dressed! However, we are not strict with our dress-code. For hospitality we ask that you are smart/casual and jeans are not permitted. For all enclosures we do not allow bare tops, ripped/torn jeans and football/rugby shirts.
- Can you bring picnics/drinks to the racecourse?
- Food and beverages are only permitted into the Centre Course Enclosure, where it is possible to bring picnics, small bar-b-ques and drinks. However, we do have fast food outlets and a bar in the Centre Course if you are hungry but have not prepared any food!
- Are Children allowed into all enclosures?
- Children under 16 are FREE when accompanied by an adult and are permitted into all enclosures.
- How many races do you have on each day?
- At Uttoxeter we usually have 6 or 7 races.
- Can I have a hen / stag party at the racecourse?
- A day at the races is perfect for a stag or hen party; all ages will enjoy the thrill of winning and a glass of champagne to celebrate! For that extra special treat have fully-inclusive hospitality and as a surprise for the stag/hen have a race named 'Joe Bloggs' last single hours maiden hurdle race!'.
- Can you bring Dogs into the racecourse?
- Dogs are only allowed in the Centre Course, and MUST be kept on leads at all times.
- How do I find out if racing is abandoned?
- There are several ways to find out if racing is still going ahead - you can check Ceefax on BBC 1 & 2 on page 600, Teletext on channel 4 page 550, www.racingpost.co.uk, Radio 5 Live - racing bulletin daily at 6.55am, local radio stations and you can ring the office as a last resort on 01889 562 561!

- How many people attend on an average raceday?
- On Average Uttoxeter has a crowd of 7,000 however on Midlands Grand National we expect crowds of 15,000+!
- Do I need to pay for parking?
- There is ample parking at Uttoxeter Racecourse - and its all FREE - we don't mind if you abandon your car overnight - better to be safe than sorry!
- Should I pre-book my tickets?
- To take advantage of our group bookings discount and special offers - bookings must be made in advance it also saves you time on the day! When badges are pre-booked we send them to you in the post approximately 2 weeks prior to the race day. To book call the racecourse office on 01889 562 561 or book on-line.
However we do sell badges on the gate on the day, and if you decide that you want to upgrade to a different enclosure we can do that for you on the day too! - Can I arrive earlier than the first race?
- Gates open approximately 2 hours before the first race, you are welcome to join us from then, soak up the atmosphere, pick your winners and begin your fantastic days' racing.
- When do you have night racing fixtures?
- We only race at night when it is light enough to as we are not flood-lit. Racing times can be found on our fixtures pages.
- Is it all jumping at Uttoxeter?
- We are a jumps track, with National Hunt Racing in the Winter Months and Summer Jumping in the summer! We occasionally have a bumper race, which is a National Hunt Flat race for young inexperienced horses often making there debut at a racetrack.
- What is the smallest bet you can place?
- £2 is the minimum bet with the tote.
- Is it possible to place a bet in all of the enclosures?
- There are places to bet in all enclosures, with the totesport, totepool and independent bookmakers.
- Will there be entertainment for children at the racecourse?
- Summer Saturday and Sunday fixtures are classed as family fun days. There’s always plenty of entertainment for children, usually based on the race meeting theme. There’s also an outdoor play area and plenty of open space for fun and games.

- Cash machines can be found outside the cloakroom in the Premier Bar and in the Betting Hall.
