HORSE racing is back at Uttoxeter Racecourse this month after its summer break. And an array of entertainment has been lined up not only for the two fixtures in September, but also right through the autumn. Next Wednesday (9 SEPTEMBER), the management team and players from Burton Albion Football Club - promoted last season to the Football League for the first time - will be on course for the horse racing. They include manager Paul Peschisolido - the husband of Karren Brady, the Birmingham City chief executive who is becoming a permanent fixture on BBC TV's The Apprentice next year. Sunday 20 September is the annual Medieval Day when young and old alike are encouraged to get into the spirit of the occasion with fancy dress. Medieval entertainments are laid on in the centre of the racecourse, with re-enactments of life in centuries gone by, including fighting knights. The day also includes the annual mascot race at Uttoxeter Racecourse, with funds being raised for Sunfield School in the West Midlands. The school is the national charity specialising in the care of children with severe and complex learning needs and is recognised internationally for its work with children with autistic spectrum disorders. David MacDonald, General Manager of Uttoxeter Racecourse, said: "It's great to be back on track at the racecourse after our summer break. As well as all the horse racing with top National Hunt horses and jockeys, we're organising as much entertainment as we can to make great days out for all the family." Meanwhile, a limited number of tickets for the John Smith's Midlands Grand National on Saturday 20 March 2010 are being sold at a substantial discount. They are £20 for the Premier Enclosure and £15 for the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure - a saving in each case of £7 a ticket. Admission and contact details The first race time on both Wednesday 9 September and Sunday 20 September is 2.20pm. Premier Enclosure £20; Grandstand Enclosure £16; Centre Course Family Enclosure £8. Accompanied children under 16 always admitted free. Car parking is free.
