Uttoxeter Racecourse in conjunction with MW Entertainments on Friday October 4 hosted a night of interactive entertainment, fun and exhibition matches with some of the biggest legends of darts to a packed room of darts fans.

More than 200 darts enthusiasts watched local hero Andy Hamilton beat Bob ‘The Limestone Cowboy’ Anderson in the champion of all champions final with an impressive score of 3 legs to 1. Legendary Andy Fordham and Dennis Priestly also played but were knocked out during semi-finals.

Even the audience got the chance to go up against the legends in a charity auction in aid of Prostate Cancer UK organisation. Eight lucky winners each got the chance to play a leg of darts against one of the legends, with three of the audience members beating a legend! Other sports memorabilia in the auction included; a signed darts shirt raised £180 whilst a signed Eric Bristow photo raised £130.

In total the evening raised an impressive £1,000 for the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

Commenting on the event Brian Barrass General Manager at Uttoxeter Racecourse said

“I am absolutely thrilled with the success and great feedback from our first Darts Masters event. The audience participation and interaction from the players resulted in a fun, friendly and lively atmosphere throughout the evening. I would like to thank all who attended and also thank the sponsors, Elite Reception, for helping make this such a memorable event.”

Due to the events overwhelming success a date for 2020 has already been planned and legend winner Andy Hamilton has been invited back to retain his title. Save the date October 2 2020.
